Last weekend I spent all day firing the Raku kiln. It was a lot of fun, and my hair still smells like smoke. This is a pretty cool process; you heat the piece up to red hot (1900 degrees or so) , open it up and pull it put, then set it in combustible materials, and cover it up. I made a wall mural. Unfortunately, I had a bit more cracking then I wanted. But the colors were fun. Here is picture of a piece on fire before it was covered up.
